We, at the House of Lentils, are in the business of exporting lentils that are produced in Syria and are surplus to local consumption.
According to the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) worldwide statistics, Syria ranked in the 8th position among Lentils Producing Countries in 2004, and in the 6th position among Lentils Exporting Countries in 2003.
The FAO data, demonstrates unambiguously, that Syria enjoys a competitive advantage in the Production and Marketing of lentils.
On the Production side: factors - such as a favorite climate, adequate rainfall, and natural farming methods adopted in the northern farmlands of Syria - combine to give the Syrian – grown lentils a quality and a taste that are unique in their own category.
On the Marketing side: Syria is conveniently located near its traditional export markets for lentils: Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Turkey and Southern Europe.
